when my friend ashley and i are together, we like to indulge like there's no tomorrow. i love her company. we explore, we dine and we usually spend too much money and lose things (cameras, cell phones, id cards, credit cards, etc). i take too many pictures and we both consume copious amounts of wine. we always end up with purple stained lips and fantastic memories.

maybe i'm becoming an old granny in my late 20's, but i love how wallpaper is all the rage again. did you know that reusable,
self-adhesive wallpaper exists?! i find this extremely appealing to renters (such as myself)
so i don't normally find rolls of toilet paper compelling, i just love the brass holder that says "captain"
crispy sweet potato gnocchi with fennel and sage. fluffy little pillows of bliss!
watercress salad with mint leaves, shredded green apple, chopped radish, creamy mustard vinaigrette and topped with a soft-boiled egg
an interesting combination of flavors. i found it quite refreshing (or maybe i was just heavily influenced by the fennouillet grenache we were drinking)
this plate of fish and veggies looked so unassuming. quite the latter! holy taste-gasms. you have no idea. the tender, moist fish with the crisp seared skin, topped with thin crunchy fries, and a subtle anchovie butter drenching the perfectly sauteed veg underneath. christina and i both devoured our plates (i literally wanted to lick mine clean, but refrained) and a girl at the table next to us told the waitress, hands down, best dish of 2011. i strongly agree. ashley had the amazingly succulent lamb roast which i sadly did not get a picture of :(
just look at that happy face. the 3 of us (christina is from long island and met ashley in barcelona while they taught english together) were completely satisfied and happy at the random finding of
northern spy food co.
